IFRS Foundation makes revisions to Due Process Handbook

27 August 2020

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation have approved revisions to the Due Process Handbook, which sets out the principles and requirements of the IASB and IFRIC in how standard setting must take place and the due process steps required.

The amendments primarily change the following:

1.    Clarifying the authority of IFRS Interpretations Committee agenda decisions; and

2.    Reflecting recent changes in the IASB’s effect analysis process.

Additionally, the IASB may now reject an agenda decision made by the IFRS Interpretations Committee if 4 or more IASB members object, and the Board may then decide how to proceed.
