John is the Leader of the National Tax Office for BDO Canada.
John is the National Tax Partner for BDO Canada LLP, and the head of the firm’s National Tax Department. Prior to that, he was the Global Head of Tax for BDO International. In this role, John was responsible for developing the tax service line in the BDO International network, ensuring high quality and consistent service across the globe. John has over 30 years of experience as a chartered accountant, providing tax advice to Canadian businesses and the people behind them.
John is a frequent speaker both at BDO events in Canada and internationally, as well as at continuing education events for tax professionals including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, the Canadian Tax Foundation and other associations. John is a frequent guest expert for various media, appearing on television news programs and in major newspaper and magazine articles to discuss tax issues important to Canadians. John is the former Co-chair of the Canada Revenue Agency’s Toronto Centre Professional’s Advisory Committee, former Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation, and currently a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Tax Committee.
