IFRS 17 Webinars

The IASB has released two webinars co on IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts tailored to investors.
The first webinar, co-hosted with the Canadian Accounting Standards Board, is tailored to investors and:
- explains why IFRS 17 was developed;
- illustrates how IFRS 17 works using examples of what an insurer’s income statement and balance sheet could look like under IFRS 17, as well as the roll-forward of the insurance contract liability by its components;
- summarises the benefits of IFRS 17; and
- answers questions submitted by investors during the webinar

The second webinar is in two parts and gives an overview of the core measurement requirements for insurance contracts. The first part discusses initial recognition and the second part discusses the subsequent measurement. The webinar is available on the IASB’s web site here.
